Terms of Service

Version 1.0 — Effective July 2026

Language. These Terms are written in English, and the English text is the legally binding version. Courtesy translations are available in Russian and Hebrew; in case of any discrepancy, the English version prevails.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the channel translation service available at telegram-translations.com and through our Telegram bot @TG_Translations_Bot (the "Service"). By pressing the "Agree" button in the bot, you accept these Terms.

1. What the Service Does

The Service creates and maintains a "mirror": an automated, machine-translated copy of posts from a Telegram channel you administer (the "source channel") into another Telegram channel you administer (the "target channel"). Translations are produced by automated translation systems.

Both channels remain yours. The Service does not own, host, or control your channels; it only posts translated content into the target channel through a bot that you add as an administrator. The bot requires no administrator rights on the source channel and only the "Post Messages" right on the target channel — it cannot delete, edit, or manage anything in your channels.

2. Who May Order a Mirror

Only the true administrator of the source channel may order a mirror of it. By signing up, you confirm that you are an administrator of both the source and target channels and that you have the right to authorize republication of the source channel's content in translated form.

You demonstrate this by adding our bot to both channels yourself and confirming the setup in a direct conversation with the bot. We record the Telegram account that performs these actions. If we have reason to believe that a mirror was ordered by someone other than the channel's rightful administrator, or that these Terms are otherwise being abused, we may pause or discontinue that mirror at any time without prior notice (see Section 7).

3. As-Is Mirroring

The Service mirrors posts as they exist at the moment of translation. It does not propagate later edits or deletions: if you edit or delete a post in the source channel after it has been mirrored, the mirrored post in the target channel is not updated or removed automatically. Keeping the mirror consistent with the source — including removing mirrored posts you no longer want published — is your responsibility as the target channel's administrator.

4. Translation Quality

Translations are produced entirely by automated systems without human review. Machine translation can contain errors, awkward phrasing, or inaccuracies, particularly for names, numbers, idioms, and specialized terminology. The Service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantee that any translation is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing mirrored content to the extent accuracy matters for your audience.

5. Your Content and Your Responsibilities

You retain all rights to the content of your channels. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the Service: to read posts from the source channel, process them through third-party translation providers, and publish the translated result to the target channel.

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • the content you publish and mirror complies with applicable law and with Telegram's Terms of Service;
  • you have the necessary rights to the content being mirrored;
  • your use of the Service does not infringe the rights of any third party.

We may decline or discontinue service for any channel whose content we reasonably consider unlawful, infringing, or incompatible with the operation of the Service.

6. Data Handling and Retention

To operate the Service, we process and store:

  • Account data: your Telegram user ID, username, the date of your agreement to these Terms, and the version of the Terms you accepted;
  • Configuration data: the identities of your source and target channels and your mirror's settings;
  • Post content copies: the text of source posts and their translations, retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes (troubleshooting, dispute resolution, quality control), after which the text is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. Technical records that do not contain post text (message identifiers, timestamps, character counts) may be retained longer for accounting and reliability purposes.

Post content is shared with third-party translation providers solely to produce translations. We use paid, business-grade tiers of these services, under contractual terms that prohibit the providers from storing your content or using it for any purpose of their own — including training their AI models. We do not sell your data and do not use your content for any purpose other than operating the Service.

7. Suspension and Discontinuation

We may pause or discontinue any mirror, or refuse service entirely, if we reasonably suspect:

  • the mirror was ordered by someone who is not the channel's rightful administrator;
  • the mirrored content or the use of the Service violates these Terms, applicable law, or Telegram's Terms of Service;
  • the Service is being abused in a way that harms its operation or other users.

Where practical, we will notify you through the bot. We are not obliged to give prior notice where we consider immediate action necessary.

You may close your mirror at any time through the bot. Closing a mirror stops translation; already-published posts remain in your target channel under your control.

8. Free Tier and Paid Plans

The free tier includes up to 50 mirrored posts per calendar month per mirror, with the counter resetting on the first day of each month. When the monthly limit is reached, mirroring pauses until the next month or until you upgrade to a paid plan.

Paid plans are billed through an independent payment provider; payment terms, prices, and cancellation are presented at checkout. We reserve the right to change the limits and pricing of plans; changes do not apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the Service running continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Mirrors may be delayed or paused by maintenance, failures of third-party services (Telegram, translation providers, hosting), or technical faults. The Service is offered without any service-level guarantee.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of audience, loss of revenue, or damage arising from translation errors, delays, downtime, or the actions of third-party platforms and providers. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months preceding the claim, or, for free-tier use, to zero.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Relationship to Telegram

The Service is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Telegram or Telegram FZ-LLC. "Telegram" is a trademark of its respective owner and is used here only to describe the platform the Service operates on. The Service operates through Telegram's official Bot API and is subject to Telegram's own terms; if Telegram restricts or removes capabilities the Service depends on, the affected features may stop working.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Each version carries a version number and effective date, and your acceptance is recorded against the specific version you agreed to. If a change materially affects an active mirror, we will notify you through the bot; continued use of the Service after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
